How to make a rainbow cake


Ingredients
12 oz Butter
12 oz Sugar
6 eggs
12 oz Flour
3 tsp Baking Powder
4 different colours of food colouring
For Icing:
16 oz icing sugar
8 oz butter
1 tsp vanilla essence

Method:
1. Put the butter, sugar, eggs, flour and baking powder. 
2. Mix it all together.
3. Divide into four bowls. Add different food colouring to each bowl.

4. Put in the oven at Gas mark 4/5 for 30 minutes.
5. Leave to cool on wire trays. 
6. When fully cool, make the icing.
7. For the icing: Add everything to a bowl and mix until light and creamy.
8. Spread a thin layer of icing on three of the sponges. Stack them and cover in icing.
9. Add any decorations and Enjoy!
Top Tip: Use lining paper for your tins and whisk everything for ages!!
